I used 1lb hamburger and 1lb turkey, added salsa instead of taco seasoning, 1 can of pinto beans or black beans and used tortilla chips…. chips were just fine . Topped with cheddar cheese, black olives and fresh spring onions. Served with side salad and the Family LOVED it!

  2. Lisa says:

I didn’t have cheddar cheese soup so I mixed some velveeta with tomato soup and drizzled that over the top and it was delicious. My kids are two helpings!

Putting this on the menu for later this week! So pumped!
Also, unless I’m totally just overlooking it, I think you forgot to list the Fritos under the ingrediants list. Just wanted to let you know!

I added a little cheese to the beef mixture, used the Fiesta Cheese soup and a Mexican cheese blend. We used sour cream and salsa as garnish. Definitely will add fiesta corn next time.

I make it with ground beef, onions, chopped olives a large can of chili con carnie stir in a bag of Fritos and add cheddar cheese. It is awesome!

I’ve never made it but decided it looks great! I did pick up a few extras to add to it like black olives, fiesta corn, sliced jalapeños(for my husband) and sour cream! May add chopped green onion on the top once it’s done..

I have a variation that my mom made when I was a kid. Bag of Fritos, 2 cans of chili of your choice and shredded cheese. Spray bottom of square casserole dish and add layer of crushed Fritos. Add 1 can of chili and spread evenly over chips. Next add layer of shredded cheese then repeat layers. 350 for 30 minutes. Can change up flavor by using different cans of chili. Can top with sour cream, salsa, etc but I like it plain.

  7. Lisa says:

Have you ever made this with coarsely crushed tortillas chips on the bottom instead of fritos? Do you think they would they get too soggy?

    • Ashley says:

No, I have never tried that. I’m really not sure if they would get too soggy, but I am now curious! If you try, please let me know how it turns out!!
